This small village was established along the "Voie des Tahots" (leather route), by which leather made in Malmedy was transported to the German markets of Frankfurt and Leipzig. This road crossed the Via Mansuerisca at the place called "Tioû" (lime tree); further on, the small chapel of St. Bernard can still be found.
